HL Deb 25 July 1979 vol 401 cc2032-3WA
Lord MELCHETT

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they intend to introduce a Bill to consolidate legislation affecting the conservation and protection of wildlife; and if so, when the Bill will be introduced, and which of the following Acts of Parliament it will cover:

The LORD CHANCELLOR (Lord Hailsham of Saint Marylebone)

I have asked the Law Commission to note the noble Lord's suggestion for consolidation of the legislation affecting the conservation and protection of wildlife, and to ensure that decisions are taken at the appropriate time on the extent of any such consolidation, and the priority to be accorded to it.
