§ Mr. Wallasked the Lord Privy Seal what action he is taking to assist Mrs. Damm after the murder of her husband to recover the money paid for the sale of her farm by the Tanzanian Government into a blocked account.
§ Mr. LuceWe continue to seek urgent settlement of Mrs. Damm's claim by the Tanzanian authorities, who in response to our representations have waived penal ties over non-payment of estate duty. We are seeking agreement for this to be treated as a compassionate case, to secure early payment of the whole sum outstanding.
