HC Deb 25 July 1979 vol 971 c312W
Dr. McDonald

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what would be the net cost of allowing married and co-habiting women to claim invalid care allowance at 1979–80 benefit rates.

Mr. Prentice

It is estimated that, at the benefit rates to be introduced in November 1979, it would cost between £60 million and £90 million to extend title to invalid care allowance to married and co-habiting women.
