§ Dr. VaughanThe, number of children adopted under orders registered in 1977 in England and Wales within six months and within one year of birth were respectively 1,157 and 2,945.
No children are adopted within one or three months of birth, because an adoption order cannot be made in respect of a child who is less than 19 weeks old.
