§ Mr. Les HuckfieldI am not aware of any use which has been made of article 90 of the Treaty of Rome to date. There are no directly comparable provisions in the Treaty of Paris, but, under that Treaty, the Commission has certain powers to ensure that the Treaty objectives relating to competition policy are attained.
