§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will list the grants made under the new product and process development scheme in each of the past three years and the products or processes favoured in each case.
§ Mr. Les HuckfieldBy 30 November 1978, 420 formal applications for assistance under the product and process development scheme had been received since its inception in July 1977. Of these, 130 had been approved, involving a Departmental contribution of approximately £11 million towards total project costs of £38 million. The rate of new approvals is currently about 20 per month. Details of individual grants cannot be made available, for reasons of commercial confidentiality.
