§ Miss Richardsonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, in the light of the difference in emphasis between Home Office circular HOC 113/1978 issued to all courts with regard to powers to direct release after recommending deportation, and paragraph 287 of "The Sentence of the Court", a handbook for courts on the treatment of offenders, whether he intends to amend the entry in the handbook to reflect present policy.
§ Mr. JohnIt is our intention to revise paragraph 287 of "The Sentence of the Court" when the next edition is prepared, but this may not be for some time.
