§ Miss Richardsonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, in the light of circular 74/1978 to chief officers of police concerning section 62 of the Criminal Law Act 1977, whether he will give (a) the total number of arrests in each force area under this section to date, (b) the total number of cases in which, following a request under section 62, the proviso has been applied and the result has been that the arrested person has been detained at the police station or other place of custody for four hours or 129W more without an attempt being made to convey the intimation and (c) the total number of such cases in which the corresponding delay has been 24 hours or
