(2) if he will list the hospitals offering heart transplant operations under the National Health Service.
§ Mr. Ennals:I am not aware of plans for any further cardiac transplants in this country at present.
§ Mr. Patrick Jenkinasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the average cost of a heart transplant operation under the National Health Service.
§ Mr. Ennals:It is not possible from the accounts of National Health Service authorities to identify the cost of treating patients suffering from specified diseases. In any case too few heart 941W transplants have been undertaken in this country to enable an assessment of the average cost of the operation here.
