§ Mr. Leeasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make regulations under the provisions of the European Elections Act 1978 to govern the general expenditure on election promotion so as to make this accountable 256W as part of the expenses of a candidate, in the light of the fact that the date of the European elections is already fixed, unlike general elections where a date is not fixed until dissolution but where all such promotional campaigns are obliged to cease before the election or be counted against election expenses.
