§ Mr. Georgeasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, in view of the diminution in horse race betting and the consequent increase on betting on greyhound racing in periods of bad weather, he will seek to introduce legislation to enable him to impose a similar levy on betting on greyhound racing.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesI have no present plans to do so. The Royal Commission on gambling considered the arguments for and against a levy on betting on greyhound racing but rejected the proposal.
