HC Deb 13 February 1979 vol 962 c462W
Mr. Churchill

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what plans he has for equipping the RAF Hawk aircraft with heat-seeking missiles, so as to increase the number of aircraft available for the air-defence of the United Kingdom.

Mr. Wellbeloved

A number of options for a war role for the Hawk aircraft are under consideration. Design proposals have now been received and are being studied, and it is hoped to make a decision later this year.
