§ Mr. Hoyleasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if she will take steps to introduce industrial democracy on the University Grants Committee, by widening the membership to include trade union representatives; and if she will have discussions with recognised Trades Union Congress unions about nominating trade union representatives to sit on this body.
§ Mr. OakesMy right hon. Friend appoints members to the UGC in the light of their personal qualities and experience. The Committee is of course an advisory body only.
