§ Mr. Georgeasked the Secretary of State for Industry how many firms have so far applied for assistance in developing the use of microelectronics; and how many applications have come from the West Midlands and Walsall.
§ Mr. Les HuckfieldConsideration is being given to more than 220 formal applications under Part C of the microprocessor application project relating to project support, of which 33 have been given financial approval. Of these, 23 applications have been made by firms in the West Midlands, including Walsall, of which three have so far been approved.
