HC Deb 05 February 1979 vol 962 c60W
Mr. McNamara

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services on how many occasions the Townend maternity home has been used for mothers to recuperate after having had their babies delivered at the Hedon Road maternity home in the past three months; and what is the cost of transporting mothers from the Hedon Road maternity hospital to the Townend maternity hospital.

Mr. Moyle

There have been 68 such transfers between 1 October and 31 December 1978. The cost of each return journey is £8.74.
