HC Deb 05 February 1979 vol 962 c19W
Mr. David Hunt

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will arrange for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Margaret Lewis of Thingwall Road, Itby, in Malta on 3 January on which an open verdict was recorded in the Manchester coroner's court.

Mr. Judd

It is of course for the Maltese authorities to conduct any investigation which may be necessary in Malta.

An autopsy has been held there and I understand that the circumstances of Mrs. Lewis's death are the subject of a magistrates' inquiry in Malta, which is the equivalent of a coroner's inquest.
