§ Mr. William Sheltonasked the Attorney-General if he will seek to amend the law of nuisance in order to deal more effectively with the problem of annoyance to neighbours caused by rowdy parties, sometimes organised on the basis of the purchase of tickets to gain admittance.
§ Mr. Arthur DavidsonWhere a nuisance has been committed, any person may seek the civil remedies of damages or an injunction to prevent the continuance of the nuisance. If the hon. Member has any specific proposals for amendment to the civil law of nuisance, my noble Friend the Lord Chancellor would be interested to hear of them. Questions of new criminal penalties are, of course, for my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary.
