HC Deb 21 December 1979 vol 976 c510W
Mrs. Dunwoody

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) if he will list the number and locations of secondary schools in Cheshire with pupils in the 11 to 18-year age group and the number of O-and A-level courses they provide;

(2) if he will list the number and locations of sixth form colleges in Cheshire and the number of O-and A-level courses they provide.

Dr. Boyson

In January 1979, the latest date for which information is available, there were 79 maintained secondary schools in Cheshire; 72 schools had pupils on courses leading to O-level or CSE examinations, of which 51 also had pupils on courses leading to A-level examinations. Included in these numbers are two sixth form colleges. The other information requested is not readily available to my Department and I suggest the hon. Member approaches the local education authority for it.
