§ Dr. BoysonI regret I gave my hon. Friend the wrong figures in reply to his supplementary question on 18 December 1979. The correct answer is that the number of overseas students in British Universities rose consistently to 36,534 in 1978–79, after which they fell to about 35,000 in 1979–80: about half of these were postgraduates and half under graduates.
