asked the Secretary of State for Employment when he expects to announce his conclusion on the possibility of fortnightly attendance for unemployment benefit; and how much he estimates such a move would save.

[pursuant to his reply, 13 December 1979]: Fortnightly attendance and payment of unemployment benefits was introduced nationally in September this year. Expected savings from this change are about£8.5 million a year
