§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Employment what reductions in the activities of the Health and Safety Executive are planned, in order to save 260 staff at a cost of£2.2 million.
§ Mr. Mayhew[pursuant to his reply, 13 December 1979]: As a result of the statement on Civil Service manpower 105W reductions, made in the House on 6 December, the Health and Safety Commission and its Executive will be reviewing the allocation of resources to future programmes of work. Any decisions will be made by them, and it is too soon to say what reductions are planned.
