School Meals, Milk and Transport

Mr. Millan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the expenditure in Scotland in 1978–79 on school meals, school milk and school transport, respectively; and what estimates he has made for rate support grant purposes of the similar expenditure on a constant price basis for 1979–80 and 1980–81.

support grant proposals for 1980–81 compared with the ratios assumed for expenditure in that year in the White Paper on public expenditure, Cmnd. 7439.

The pupil-teacher ratios for 1980–81 assumed in the White Paper on public expenditure 1979–80 to 1982–83 (Cmnd. 7439) and in the relevant expenditure estimates in the report on the Rate Support Grant (Scotland) Order 1979 (HC 295) were as follows:
