§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for Employment how many improvement and prohibition notices were served under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 by Her Majesty's quarries inspectors in 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978 and 1979; how many prosecutions were taken against quarry owners in each of those years; how many quarries were registered with the quarries inspectorate at the beginning of each of those years; and with what frequency visits are paid to quarries by the inspectorate.

§ Mr. MayhewThe Health and Safety Executive has brought 186 prosecutions involving 310 informations against factory occupiers for failing to report accidents as required by section 80 of the Factories 101W Act 1961, since the Factories Act 1961 etc. (Repeals and Modifications) Regulations 1974 came into operation on 1 January 1975.
