HC Deb 17 December 1979 vol 976 c29W
Mr. Morgan

asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether, in the light of the fact that a major oil company has given notice that it will cease to supply petrol in an area of rural Wales to retailers of less than 50,000 gallons per annum, he is satisfied that the assurances given to his Department about continuity of supplies in rural areas, Official Report, 1 November, columns 625–6, will be honoured.

Mr. Gray

I am not aware that any oil company has stated that it intends to stop supplying filling stations with a turnover of less than 50,000 gallons per annum, and am confident that the oil companies will honour the assurances they have given about maintaining reasonable availability of supplies in rural areas.
