HC Deb 17 December 1979 vol 976 cc65-6W
Mr. Bradford

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if the constitutional talks involving political parties in Northern Ireland will proceed if all invited parties attend with the exception of the Social Democratic and Labour Party; and if he will accept an agreed formula for the return of a devolved Parliament should it emerge from talks from which the Social Democratic and Labour Party had excluded itself.

Mr. Humphrey Atkins

The eventualities described do not appear likely. My hope is that the conference will have the participation of all the invited parties, leading to a high level of agreement.
