Mr. John Ellis

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many inquiries from Scunthorpe and Glanford borough councils to the Health and Safety Executive concerning planning applications he took into account in the reply to the hon. Member for Brigg and Scunthorpe on Tuesday 27 March; and what was the longest time that the Glanford borough council had to wait for a reply from the Health and Safety Executive in this period.

pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 3 April 1979; Vol. 965, c. 645], gave the following answer:

My reply to my hon. Friend on Tuesday 27 March took into account 77 inquiries from Scunthorpe and Glanford borough councils to the Health and Safety Executive concerning planning applications. The longest time that the Glanford borough council had to wait for a reply from the Health and Safety Executive in this period was 38 weeks.
