§ Mr. John Ellisasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he has received the report No. K23049 of the Motor Industry Research Association concerning the saving of fuel through the use of wind deflectors; and if he will arrange to study the report and make a statement.
§ Mr. Les HuckfieldThe report No. K23049 was funded by the Department and shows that the fitting of deflectors could reduce fuel consumption by up to 13 per cent. The Department is in close contact with MIRA and the large commercial vehicle fleet operators who are considering follow up action.
