asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if she will make a statement on the future of Shore-ditch college, Englefield Green, Surrey.

Mr. Oakes

My right hon. Friend hopes that the college will merge with Brunel university, as indicated in her plan for the restructuring of the teacher training system announced on 27 June 1977. Negotiations to that end are continuing.
