HC Deb 02 April 1979 vol 965 cc491-2W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Lord President of the Council, in view of the Government's decision to recommend the Adjournment of the House to enable hon. Members to participate in the activities connected with the recent referenda on the Scottish and Welsh Assemblies, why he will not take similar action regarding the elections to the European Assembly.

Mr. Foot

It is customary for the House to adjourn for the spring bank holiday, which falls shortly before the date of the European Assembly election.
