HC Deb 24 October 1978 vol 955 c783W
Mr. Cledwyn Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will take steps to amend the terms of the White Paper "Development and Compensation" Command Paper No. 5124, so as to enable grants to be paid towards the installation of soundproofing of properties subjected to high noise levels from neighbouring RAF stations as a result of the introduction to those installations of new and more powerful aircraft producing a much louder noise.

Mr. Wellbeloved

The Noise Advisory Council is currently examining the question of grants for noise insulation and the conditions under which they may be paid. The Government are currently awaiting the results of these investigations which are expected next year.
