Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is now able to make a statement on his investigations into how Mr. Dukes, the self-confessed leader of the Ku Klux Klan, who was barred from entry into Great Britain, was able to enter and remain; how and why a similar 863W situation arose concerning the person whose name has been supplied to him; in how many similar cases, for any stated period of time, persons who were either barred from entry into Great Britain or had conditions imposed on their entry and stay were able to evade such conditions; and whether he will make a statement.

I have informed my hon. Friend that the case referred to in his letters to me of 16th and 18th September is sub judice and it would be wrong for me to comment at this stage.
