Beith27. Mr. asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will make a statement about the progress of discussions on the 42-hour week and on manning levels in the fire service.
§ Dr. Summerskill:Agreement has now been reached on the introduction of the 348W 42 hour week on 1st April 1979, or earlier in those brigades which can introduce it earlier.
