§ Rev. Ian Paisleyasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what are the unemployment figures for the Lisburn borough council area; and how this compares with other areas both east and west of the Bann.
Mr. Concalmon:On 9th November 1978, 1,619 persons were registered as unemployed in the Lisburn employment service area, which includes the Lisburn borough council area. Percentage figures of unemployment are available only for larger travel to work areas.
On the same date, 34,652 and 26,565 persons were registered as unemployed in areas roughly defined as east and west of the Bann respectively.
