HC Deb 27 November 1978 vol 959 c34W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish a table showing the average gross weekly earnings for full-time male workers aged 21 years and over, employed in non-manual jobs.

Mr. Golding:

The average gross weekly earnings in April 1978 of full-time non-manual male workers aged 21 years and over, were £100.70. This estimate relates to those employees in the New Earnings Survey 1978 whose pay for the survey reference period was not affected by absence. It is given to the nearest 10p and subject to sampling error.
