asked the Attorney-General what is his estimate of the total cost to the taxpayer of the proceedings against Messrs. Aubrey, Berry and Campbell under the various provisions of the Official Secrets Act.

The Attorney-General:

It is not possible to estimate. The legal costs are not yet ascertainable; the administrative costs cannot be assessed without disproportionate expense.
