asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if he will refer to the Price Commission recent increases in Post Office charges in respect of private internal telephone systems, in view of the effect on customers in areas such as South Yorkshire and Sheffield.

No. Responsibility for deciding whether or not to investigate particular price increases lies with the Price Commission.
