asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what safeguards exist to ensure that information about individuals collected and passed to friendly foreign intelligence services cannot be used for blackmail.

It is not the practice to comment in detail on such matters, but can assure my hon. Friend that information would not be passed unless there was reason to be confident that it would not be put to improper use.
