Mr. Geoffrey Fingsbergasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department on what dates, between 1975 and April 1978, a Home Office Minister discussed with, or wrote to, the appropriate elected chairman or member of the Greater London Council to ascertain their views on various aspects of the Maxwell Stamp Report.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesMy hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State had discussions with the then chairman of the GLC transport committee in December 1975 and we had a further exchange of correspondence in June-July 1976. Between that time and April of this year, when my hon. Friend was in correspondence with the deputy leader of the GLC planning and communications policy committee, consultations with the GLC have continued at official level.
