§ 53. Mr. Farrasked the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to commence the construction of the Al-M1 link road and the north-south bypass of Market Harborough.
§ Mr. HoramWe hope to start the A1-M1 link road in the period 1981–83, subject to the satisfactory completion of statutory procedures and the availability of funds at the time. Proposals to include a bypass of Market Harborough in the trunk road programme are under consideration: we hope to reach a decision soon. A typical scheme takes about eight years from inception to commencement of construction.
