Friend has no plans to visit the Middle East at present but I recently visited Jordan and the Yemen Arab Republic, where I saw British aid projects and discussed our aid programmes, and Saudi Arabia where I had discussions on co-operation with Arab aid agencies and on possibilities for paid technical co-operation.
