asked the Secretary of State for Employment what has been the total cost of running Remploy Ltd., including all main constituent costs of any sort whatsoever, such as expenditure on its own programmes, wages, rent, heating and lighting, maintenance, etc., in the latest 12 months for which figures are available; and what are the projected costs for 1978–79.

I am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that the provisional figure for 1977–78 for funds provided by the Commission to Remploy is £221 million. The estimate for 1978–79 is £24.1 million.
