HC Deb 04 May 1978 vol 949 c241W
Mr. Molloy

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is satisfied with current progress in releasing derelict land for development; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Marks

I am not aware of any general problem in releasing for development that derelict land, for which reclamation grants are payable to local authorities.

So far as other vacant or underused land is concerned, my right hon. Friend has invited the chairman of most of the nationalised industries and the main statutory undertakers to review their holdings of such land in the partnership authority areas, which we regard as the first priority.
