§ Mr. Cartwrightasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what proposals have been put forward for a reduction in the number of river police stations on the Thames; and which stations are affected;
(2) what is the present establishment of the Thames river police; what is the present manpower level; and what reductions are currently being considered;
(3) what length of the River Thames is currently patrolled by the river police; and what reductions in duties are now being considered in conjunction with possible cuts in manpower;
(4) what representations he has received about the possible closure of the river police station at Erith; and what consultations he will undertake on the matter.
