HL Deb 23 March 1978 vol 389 c1965WA
The Earl of KIMBERLEY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will use their best endeavours to dissuade Post Office Telecommunications from depriving local exchanges of their individual names, by changing the existing name to that of the nearest large town or city.

Lord ORAM

The naming of telephone exchanges is a matter of day-to-day management for which the Post Office have full responsibility.
