1966WAWhether they will summarise the respects, if any, in which United Kingdom law and practices conflict with the provisions of the European Convention on Human Rights, and whether it is intended to introduce any necessary amendments to legislation in advance of the report of the Select Committee on the far larger constitutional question of a Bill of Rights.
§ The MINISTER of STATE, HOME OFFICE (Lord Harris of Greenwich)The Government have at present no reason to suppose that there is a conflict between any of the provisions of' the Convention and the law of the United Kingdom or the general rules governing administrative practice in this country. We shall continue, however, to keep the position under review in the light of the interpretation given to the Convention by the international organs charged with supervising its application.
