The most relevant available information covering the financial year 1974–75—the first year following the reorganisation of the National Health Service—and for 1976–77—the last year for which complete accounts are avaiable—is given below.

As area health authorities were not introduced until the reorganisation of the National Health Service figures in the form requested are not available for years before 1974–75.
