§ Mr. Staintonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will quantify in cash terms the abortive expenditure increase by the East Anglian Regional Health Authority in the now superseded regional scheme for the major development of hospital facilities on the Heath Road site at Ipswich, and apportion the sum between his Department and the regional health authority.
§ Mr. MoyleNo direct expenditure was incurred by my Department on design of the earlier scheme. I understand that most of the work was undertaken by staff employed by the former Regional Hospital Board but expenditure on any abortive work is not separately identifiable.
