§ Mr. McCuskerasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many leases for 99 years and 999 years, respectively, have been granted by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive in the designated area of the new town of Craigavon; and what is its authority for doing so.
§ Mr. CarterThe authority by which the Northern Ireland Housing Executive is able to lease houses is to be found in the Housing Executive Act (Northern Ireland) 1971. The number of leases granted by the Executive in any area is, however, a day-to-day function of the Executive in which neither I nor the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland has a direct responsibility.
