HC Deb 23 March 1978 vol 946 cc703-4W
Mrs. Chalker

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what decision he has made concerning the redevelopment of the old Battersea General Hospital site in Albert Bridge Road SW11.

Mr. Deakins

The Supplementary Benefits Commission proposes to use the old Battersea Hospital site for a reception centre resettlement unit. The local planning authority, when consulted, raised no objection in principle. It has referred to my Department and the Department of the Environment objections received from the public and these are under consideration.
