Osbornasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will now introduce legislation, bearing in mind the experience of the Yorkshire Electricity Board in the Hallam Division of Sheffield, to enable weights and measures departments and independent assessors to check the accuracy of meters installed and supplied by the Central Electricity Generating Board.
§ Dr. John CunninghamThe Electricity Supply Acts require electricity boards to use meters certified by electricity meter examiners of the Department of Energy and to keep meters in proper order for correctly registering the supply.
